John Wierenga

Our retired clients have walked a path similar to you. They, too, were both intentional and careful about accumulating a retirement nest egg throughout their working years. With a compelling desire to provide independent, objective advice, John was led to found Stewardship Trust Advisors in 2002 as a fee-only fiduciary investment advisory firm focused on fostering pro-active planning, stewardship, and transparency.

John and his bride of 36 years are lifelong residents of West Michigan where they raised their four children and are proud grandparents of their first granddaughter. John served our country and is a Navy Veteran. Outside of the office, John and his wife love to travel, go on power walks and play pickleball.

Todd Ackermann

Todd graduated from Hope College with a double major in business and economics, while playing football and baseball. Todd is married to Wendy, and they have two adult children. Todd enjoys spending time exploring God’s amazing handiwork and particularly enjoys being in lakes and oceans trying to catch a few waves.

Craig Ackermann

Craig and his team bring world-class service and planning to each client relationship.

Craig attended Hope College and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and played football as a freshman. Craig is married to Christine, and they have four adult children. When Craig is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors, especially at one of our beautiful lakes in Michigan or golfing.

Jacob Ekkens

Many people struggle with the uncertainty of their financial future and how to manage the money they have worked so hard for.

Since 2018, Jake has been walking alongside clients to help them gain clarity on their finances and create a plan that they can successfully follow to achieve their goals. Through investment management, financial planning and legacy planning, Jake and his team bring an elite level of service and planning into each client he serves.

Jake attended Central Michigan University as a Student Athlete where he earned his bachelor’s degree. During his time there he walked on and earned a scholarship on the football team. Jake, his wife, Molly, and their two daughters reside in Byron Center, Mich. When not at work, Jake can be found spending time with his family, coaching/watching his kids play sports, playing sports himself and enjoying anything outdoors.

Bethany Kingma

Clear communication and personal, efficient service are hallmarks of true client-centered care. With over a decade of administrative and client relationship experience across several industries, Bethany’s passion for people and details ensures that each client’s needs are met with careful attention.

Bethany holds a bachelors degree from Trinity Christian College with a double major in English and Communication Arts. Outside of the office, Bethany enjoys tending her growing collection of houseplants and a small summer veggie garden, and she is always dreaming up new projects for the house. Together she and her husband, Alex, enjoy going for walks and bike rides, playing pickleball, camping, and traveling.

Wendy Ackermann

Connecting with people, listening, and serving others is a passion of Wendy’s. For the last fourteen years, she has provided outstanding support for both advisors and their clients alike. Wendy’s joyful spirit marks all of her communication, and her commitment to service ensures our clients’ needs are met with excellence.

Wendy attended Hope College where she played tennis for 2 years and earned a bachelor’s degree in special and Elementary Education. Wendy is married to Todd, and they have two adult children. Outside of work, Wendy enjoys traveling, any activity outside, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Amy Woudstra

With over 13 years in the industry, Amy brings a genuine interest in serving others. Amy’s attention to detail and professional manner provides an excellent client experience, helping our clients feel confident that their needs and requests will be met with careful service.

Amy resides in the Byron Center area with her husband James. They have a son and a daughter, who is married. Amy and her husband recently became Grandparents to a beautiful Granddaughter. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and loves spending time with her family and friends.
